Police say two transients from Sioux Falls were foiled during a beer truck burglary by a delivery driver.

Capt. Loren McManus said that officers were called to the area of 11th Street and South Duluth Avenue at 8 a.m. Thursday. A driver left his truck to make a delivery at a business and found one person inside the truck and a second person trying to open another door on the truck.

Both suspects were gone from the scene when officers arrived.

“Their intent was clearly to steal beer from that truck,” McManus said.

Police found both suspects nearby and the driver identified the pair as the men who tried to break into his truck. Michael B. DuBrey, 29, and Robert L. Joseph, 32, were arrested and charged with criminal entry of a motor vehicle.
