What the Delta variant and vaccination rates mean for Sioux Falls

It’s been more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic first began. In that time, public health officials have called for vaccinations as a way to slow the spread of the virus and it’s variants. Yet, COVID-19 has continued to change itself and challenge top U-S officials as they try to slow the spread. Unfortunately, the virus has already created four variant strains that are circulating in the US. The most common is the Delta variant.

We’re being joined by Dr. Charles Chima, Public Health Director for the City of Sioux Falls. He’s here to tell us what we need to know about the variants and how our day-to-day lives could continue to change in the face of the public health threat they carry.
