Chef Ellen Doerr is here to show us how to make homemade marshmallows that are sure to make the perfect topping to your mug of hot cocoa.

Peppermint Marshmallows Recipe:

  • 3 envelopes 0.75 oz unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • Red food coloring
  • ⅔ cup confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar) sifted, plus more for dusting
