How to talk to your kids about climate change

Sex. Drugs. Racism. When difficult subjects come up, it’s not easy being a parent—this is also true when that subject is climate change. Parents, teachers and caregivers are often the first and best source of information for kids. Yet, how do you answer their questions with causing them anxiety about the future?

Laura Edwards is the State Climatologist with South Dakota State University Extension. She’s here to help walk us through the climate change conversation with our kids.

Because in addition to being a trusted source for information, we are also the people who can help them cope with their big feelings that may result.
