How to cope with pandemic induced mental health issues


This weekend’s Inside KELOLAND featured a HealthBeat Special focused on mental health. Here at KELOLAND Living, we’ve spent the past 13 months focusing a lot on dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic. That’s not news. What is new is that while most of us have been focused on the short and long-term effects of COVID-19, we should have also been focusing our attention on the serious long-term mental health consequences, too.

Faith Carlson is a counselor with Renew Counseling in Sioux Falls. She’s seen first-hand how people have been affected by a real-time threat to our health.

And if you thought you had stress before the outbreak, she says it’s only gotten worse for many of us.
