I was born in Worcester, MA, spending my first few years on the east coast before my family moved to Sioux Falls prior to my first day of second grade. I grew up in KELOLAND, graduating from O’Gorman High School.
After high school I went to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Spanish and minoring in music.
Following college I worked in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a year teaching English and working at a community resource center.
Back in the United States, I’ve graduated from Creighton University with a Master of Arts degree in International Relations. While writing for graduate school, I started to consider a career in journalism. I received an internship to write for a newspaper in McAllen, Texas that eventually turned into a job.
Conversations with friends and family in late 2013 and early 2014 convinced me that the only place I wanted to be was where I find so many of them. I applied to report for KELO-TV, and am thrilled to have been hired.
When not reporting for KELOLAND News, I love spending time with friends and family, playing and listening to music, running, watching each and every soccer match that the U.S. Men’s National Team plays, and playing soccer.
My parents are my heroes. I have two younger sisters who are similarly fantastic.
When playing word association and given the prompt “genius,” I immediately think of Duke Ellington.
I adore the Muppets.
