When it comes to Halloween weather, for a lot of people in KELOLAND, the blizzard of 1991 is often the first thing to come to mind. That year we got 11 inches of snow not to mention windy and cold conditions. After the last few weeks, another Halloween like that wouldn't be too far out of the ballpark.
Thankfully, conditions are looking much better. It should be dry but a little cool. On most Halloweens, our average high temperature is right around 53 degrees. Temperature readings this year will be about 5-10 degrees below that normal. While it will be dry, we get rain about 32 percent of the time on Halloween.
Over the past five years, conditions have actually been pretty good. The only exception is 2006 when trick or treating temperatures were in the low to mid 30s. Fortunately, this year the kids won't have to bundle up quite that much.
