Next Week Weather Forecast: Not As Active
After a stormy, warm and humid week it is finally starting to feel like summer. But will the storms and humidity continue this weekend?
We started this storm season very quiet and cool. Those cool temperatures led to peace and quiet in the storm center and a lot of garage time for our storm chase vehicle Dorothy, but this last week has brought us back to reality! Three days of active weather have put KELOLAND viewers back in storm mode watching the skies and getting ready to head for cover.

Strong storms that brought funnel clouds, tornadoes, hail and high wind to much of eastern South Dakota dropped torrential rain on Aberdeen and caused havoc in Menno.

Drought Conditions Expanding
Most of South Dakota had a surplus of moisture entering the spring and summer months, with some flooding. With that moisture, things were looking good for the growing season. Then in a flash, as often happens in South Dakota, that all changed.
