SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL OCCUR ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA TONIGHT


.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA THIS AFTERNOON AND TRACK INTO EASTERN NEBRASKA TONIGHT. SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON, BECOMING MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND OVERNIGHT. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE. NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH TONIGHT WITH CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. , WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM CST /2 PM MST/ THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM CST /5 AM MST/ SUNDAY, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTH PLATTE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM CST /2 PM MST/ THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM CST /5 AM MST/ SUNDAY.

* TIMING, SNOW, MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES, WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS AND CONTINUE OVERNIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS, 3 TO 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* WIND, NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH THIS EVENING AND PERSIST THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

* IMPACTS, THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL CAUSE REDUCED VISIBILITIES OF A HALF MILE OR LESS AT TIMES TONIGHT. THIS WILL CREATE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES ON AREA ROADWAYS.
