Dakota Showcase Spotlights Augustana
For the 9th straight year, Augustana College is home to the Mr. and Miss Basketball Dakota Showcase, which draws teams from seven different states.
The tournament gives coaches the chance to see several prospects in one setting. Augustana women's coach Dave Krauth says that's a lot nicer than taking a recruiting trip to see just one player.
"It's just a matter of efficiency," Krauth said. "You just get to see so many good kids at the same place at the same time and if you can take the bleachers for the full day, you can get as much basketball as you want."
The tournament is especially beneficial for Augustana.
