Tony Barlow

I joined the KELO Weather team in September 2007. However, my first visit to KELO-TV was on a trip to the Captain 11 show with my grandparents as a child. 

I grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin, which is just outside of the Twin Cities, and got my first interest in Meteorology from an Earth Sciences teacher in Middle School. From that point on I knew what I wanted to do for a career. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Northland College in Ashland, WI, where I also earned a physics minor. Upon graduation, I took on a position doing radio weather reports for a private company in Saint Paul, MN. The radio work laid an excellent foundation for what I am doing today as I would often record as many as 300 weather reports a day, including many in Sioux Falls and others in KELOLAND. 

Besides the weather, one of my biggest passions is sports. I played four years of baseball in college and continue to play amateur baseball in the summer. I also love the outdoors and am looking forward to exploring South Dakota’s lakes and hunting lands.
