Jon Wilson
I've been at KELO-TV since 1996, but I've called KELOLAND home all my life. I grew up in Sioux Falls and enjoyed your typical childhood experiences. I graduated from O'Gorman H.S. in 1982. While at O'G I participated in baseball, football, basketball and track. I pursued my baseball career at the University of South Dakota before the program folded in 1983 only to return again a few years later. I received my broadcasting degree from Brown Institute in Minneapolis than jumped into the "Radio Game". After a few years of playing Disc-Jockey I began my television career, which started as a news photographer then progressed into sports. After spending 2 years as sports director at a different TV station, I was hired by KELO-TV in 1996 to anchor weekend sports. It's a great job, especially if you love sports like I do, and especially if you grew up in KELOLAND like I did. I moved into the News Department in the fall of 2000. I'm currently co-anchoring KELOLAND This Morning. I still enjoy playing most sports on my free time (what little I have). Golf, basketball, softball and hunting top the list. I also enjoy spending time with my family, my wife Colleen, and my daughters Tess and Tori. Email Jon |
