Not everyone can be blessed with the ability to be a professional athlete, so what better option than to become a sports reporter. As a kid it was nearly impossible to get me away from any sport, whether on TV or me simply throwing a tennis ball off a wall! While it may have driven my parents crazy, I knew from a young age that sports journalism was in my future, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the KELOLAND Sports Team.

I attended Kent State University where I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Before coming to KELO, I spent two great years as Sports Director at the NBC affiliate in Minot, ND. I owe a lot to both my professors at Kent, and friends in Minot for helping me become the reporter I am today.

As a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania it didn’t take me long to develop a passion for sports. To this day I still proudly wear the black and gold of the Steelers, Penguins and yes even the Pirates. Outside of work I enjoy watching sports (obviously), working out and catching up with family and friends back in PA.

I’m excited to continue my career here in Sioux Falls, and I’m always open to story suggestions. Feel free to send me an email at jmadalinsky@keloland.com and you can also find me on Twitter @KELOMadalinsky.
