"HEY CAMERA MAN! OVER HERE!"
This phrase often times cracks me up. Every time I get the unique opportunity to go out into KELOLAND you never know who or what you will run into. Although I've only been here a short time I've encountered floods, tornados, explosions and even the occasional feel good story that will make you cry.
How did I get here?
I grew up in the small town of Hayti, South Dakota. After finishing High School at Hamlin I attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN, majoring in Radio/TV Broadcasting. While there I was involved in everything that they had to offer. One accomplishment that I'm proud of was raising close to $2,000 for the local Red Cross Chapter to go towards the victims of Hurricane Katrina!
After graduation I interned and worked for FOX Sports Net North or FSN North for short. While there, I was able to participate in both the pre-production and production aspects of a variety of professional and college sports. I was actually two blocks away when the I-35 Bridge collapsed. We were actually covering a Timberwolves Press Conference and we were immediately switching gears to covering the horrible disaster.
This experience allowed me to realize just how much of a teamwork atmosphere is involved in working for a station.
Away from work, I enjoy going to the movies with my wife Jen, shooting hoops, and spending time with friends and family.
