My interest in meteorology goes back to my childhood at the age of three. A terrible storm hit our farm near Atlantic, IA and it left a lasting impression. Growing up on a farm, I learned how weather affects the lives of people everyday.
I began my career in radio at the age of 16 while working for AM 1220, KJAN radio. That's where I really got a chance to practice the art of broadcasting. I then went off to college to attend Iowa State University with a major in meteorology.
During my junior year, I landed a job at WOI-TV, the ABC affiliate for Des Moines. I worked weekends there for nearly two years. But as luck would have it, a job opened up here at KELOLAND TV at the end of my senior year. I couldn’t resist the opportunity and came to Sioux Falls in May of 2000.
When I’m not at work predicting the weather, you’ll find me spending time with my beautiful wife Heather and our sons Luke and Tauren. We enjoy Sioux Falls and all of the wonderful things to see and do here.
If you have any weather questions, just send them my way!
