Dude To Dad
My old Chevy truck and I did a lot of driving the past few years. We came from North Carolina pollen blooms, dealt with Miami traffic and salt spray and handled West Texas dust storms. I'm happy to leave the interstates in the rear-view and make KELOLAND my home.
My interest in weather was piqued by Hurricanes Fran and Floyd when they slammed my hometown in Central North Carolina. There's a photo of me from third grade career day complete with one of those umbrella hats, but I hid it from Mom and Dad.
I graduated from the University of Miami with Meteorology and Broadcast Journalism majors. While in college, I interned at WTVD in Raleigh-Durham and at WFOR in Miami. Before leaving Coral Gables with double honors and an Emmy nomination, I saved the lives of two baby ducks using a colander and Ethernet cable.
Midland, Texas was my next stop. I worked at KWES and brought those skills with me to Sioux Falls.
My main hobby is reading, but I love fishing, tennis, rock climbing, thrifting and crosswords. I accept challenges in Jeopardy as well as any story ideas you have. Just contact me.
