Food Network Star Raising Dough In SD

From judging homemade cakes to sharing his decorating tips, Food Network Star Norman Davis spent a long weekend with Sioux Falls bakers. And his expertise is raising money for a KELOLAND children's charity.
It's the perfect setting to perfect your cake decorating.
"I do fun cupcakes for my friends and family but hopefully it can evolve into something more," Cathy Byington said.
And Byington hopes Food Network's Cake Challenge winner Norman Davis can help.
"It's a little intimidating in that I would love to have his skills and it's encouraging. He's sharing with us his different tips," Byington said.
Tips these bakers are eating up. And that's not all, the $20 they paid to see Davis in action is going to charity.
"The Children's Miracle Network. I've worked in the school district and lots of my little friends have benefited from the program," Byington said.
The money will help local children get better and the organization is grateful for the help.
"To know that people in the community want to embrace sick and injured children in our community means a great deal to us, " Julie Briggs with Children's Miracle Network said.
"Everyone has some type of connection to a child and you never know when it's going to be your child who needs those services or not," Briggs said.
And for these decorators-in-training, helping children in need is just the frosting on the cake.
Davis judged cakes at a Cake Decorating Challenge at the Empire Mall over the weekend.
