April 19, 2009, 1:34 PM
A 45-year-old trucker from Worthing faces at least 10 years in prison and as much as life behind bars for going to another state to have sex with a teenage girl.
Ejay Gould pleaded guilty in federal court in Sioux Falls to one count of traveling with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity with a minor.
According to court documents, he left South Dakota on June 17, 2007, on an over-the-road truck driving trip with the girl, acknowledged having sex with her while in Shreveport, La., and leaving South Dakota with that intent.
Gould was taken into custody until sentencing.
U.S. Attorney Marty Jackley says the case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
