October 30, 2008, 1:07 AM
Millions of radio listeners were shocked by radio news alerts on Sunday, October 30, 1938, announcing the arrival of Martians. While many believed the broadcast, it was actually just a portion of Orson Welles' adaptation of the well-known book, War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells.
Fifty years later, Jay Trobec interviewed people who heard the broadcast.
