Clinton, Obama Bringing Fight To SD
May 1, 2008, 8:39 AM
The Hillary Clinton campaign has issued a statement aimed at South Dakota voters who will decide between her and Barack Obama in the state's June third presidential primary.
Clinton says gasoline has become so costly that it's time to slap an excess profits tax on oil companies and use those revenues to suspend federal gas taxes in the summer months.
In response, Obama says Clinton is trying to distract voters without doing anything about meaningful relief for working families.
Obama proposes tax cuts up to $1,000 for working families and investing $150 billion in renewable energy sources that will create millions of jobs and end the oil addiction.
