At last count, there were 800 homeless people living in Sioux Falls and more than one third of those are children. This week new numbers on the homeless population will be released, will we see a decrease or are they on the rise?
Several organizations are working hard to help those less fortunate get back on their feet. On this week's edition of Inside KELOLAND we'll talk with the Sioux Empire Coalition Coordinator as well as Sioux Falls' Homeless Coordinator about their efforts.

Events going on in Sioux Falls during Hunger & Homeless Awareness week:
*Tuesday, Nov. 13 - Project Connect, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Salvation Army gym, 800 N. Cliff Ave.
Find affordable housing, medical services, educational services and much more. The event is free.
*Thursday, Nov. 15 - Permanent housing for the homeless conference. 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Richard Amos, a specialist and artist from St. Stephen's Housing in Minneapolis, will talk about the routes to permenant housing and new ides for funding. First Congregational Church, 300 S. Minnesota Ave. To register, call 367-6012.
*Friday, Nov. 16 - Service for homeless who have died in the last year starts at 4 p.m. at the memorial plaque along the Big Sioux River behind Kilian College on Sixth Street.
