South Dakota has seen a 200% increase in car accidents involving teenagers and alcohol. And according to a survey half of the state's teens binge drink on a monthly basis.
Statistics like that are prompting state officials to take action, by doing things like bringing national speakers to local schools.
"It's easy to be a friends when things are going well, but when your friend has made the wrong choice at the party, that's when your friendship counts. That's when you get the keys away. That's when you take responsibility and it's not wimping out or anything else. It's being what really counts. It's something coming from here, " says the father of a teenager involved in a serious alcohol-related accident.
