Inside KELOLAND: DUI Campaign & Vietnam Memorial

September 10, 2006, 11:00 AM by News Staff

Inside KELOLAND: DUI Campaign & Vietnam Memorial
Since the national "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" campaigned kicked off on August 18th, troopers in the Sioux Falls District have held 18 sobriety checkpoints, seven saturation patrols, and made a total of 105 DWI arrests. The crackdown was held all across the country.  Click here for more information on DUI arrests.

In this week's Inside KELOLAND we spoke with highway patrol officers about the impact of the program, and compared the results from Iowa and Minnesota. We also spoke with a counselor in a local DUI program about affective ways to stop people with drinking problems from driving.

Pierre is preparing for up to 50,000 people to gather for the memorial dedication on September 15th and 16th. The dedication includes unveiling of a Vietnam War Memorial statue, concerts, fireworks and much more.
