School funding, expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act and the death penalty. Those are some of the topics that will be discussed when South Dakota's 89th legislative session begins Tuesday.
We're talking to lawmakers about some of the top issues.
"I know there are some bills that are already out there looking at repealing the death penalty so we'll obviously debate that at length," Republican state Senator Tim Rave of Baltic said.
"That might have some traction. I mean definitely it's going to be proposed and the thing is we'll see where it goes from there," Democratic Representative Marc Feinstein of Sioux Falls said.
