The South Dakota Legislature is looking for 22 college students to serve as interns during the 2014 legislative session that starts in January.
Authorities say the internship program is designed so students can gain a better understanding of government processes while they provide assistance to state lawmakers. Interns help legislative leaders deal with bills, constituent services and other tasks.
The interns earn college credit for their internships and are paid $4,800 for their work.
Applications for intern positions must be filed with the Legislative Research Council by Oct. 15.
