Police: SF Man Held Woman Against Her Will

Police: SF Man Held Woman Against Her Will
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A Sioux Falls man faces felony kidnapping and assault charges for allegedly beating and holding his girlfriend in his apartment for more than two weeks. A judge set bail at $20,000 for Guy Richard Lundgren, 52, who was charged Monday in Minnehaha County Court.

Lundgren’s alleged victim told police she was beat so many times, she couldn't remember the total.  Police say Lundgren held the 44-year-old woman against her will in his apartment for 22 days. A neighbor tipped police off Saturday about the suspicious behavior.

Police say the woman had visible signs of abuse all over her body. She told police she'd been in the apartment since January 4 and had tried to leave, but Lundgren stopped her. Police say it happened so often that the woman could not remember how many times she'd been beaten or where. She had black eyes, bruised limbs and chest, and dried blood on her skin and clothes. Doctors also say she had a broken eye socket.

Lundgren could face life in prison if convicted. He also faces charges for attempting to assault a neighbor in the same apartment building.
