Hundreds of people rush for one last chance to get a piece of George McGovern's legacy at a two day estate sale beginning Saturday.
The former U.S. Senator died in October and now many of his things are up for sale at his home in Sioux Falls.
From posters to pictures to paintings, the wide variety of McGovern's things draw a crowd that organizers say, they expected this weekend. In fact, a crowd lined up outside the home several hours before the sale started on Saturday.
"We have had tons and tons and tons of people. And it's been steady. And people are really getting lots of stuff. They are walking out with armloads, so it's wonderful. George would be very happy," Deb Sorensen with Finders Keepers said.
And what are the big ticket items? Sorensen says it’s the political memorabilia from McGovern's many campaigns.
If you haven't had a chance to check out the sale, you're in luck. It runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
