Mother Of Fire Victims Appears On Drug Charges

Mother Of Fire Victims Appears On Drug Charges
Rhiannon White

The mother of three children who died in a Sioux Falls house fire last month made her first court appearance on drug charges Wednesday.

Rhiannon White, 34, lost her three children in a December 22 fire in central Sioux Falls. In the weeks following the fire she was charged with drug possession.

White made a brief court appearance at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning on two counts of drug possession. White told the judge she understood the charges against her and she was given a court-appointed attorney from the Minnehaha County Public Defender's Office.

White faces the drug charges after tests from her emergency room visit following the fire showed that she had meth, ecstasy and marijuana in her system.

Court documents say she actually admitted that she used meth just days before the fire.
