He helped launch the Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey club and has served as President of both the Stampede and the Pheasants, but now Jim Loria plans to step away.
After 15 years with the Herd, Loria says he will depart following the Stampede's final home game of the season on April 13th if not sooner depending on what opportunities arise. According to both teams websites, Loria is currently the Sr. Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
Loria had this to say in a Facebook post last night:
"As I look back on the 2012 year, we had the infusion of new ownership which greatly improved the attendance of our baseball club last summer. It has also been a joy this winter to see our Stampede generating so much excitement with its play on the ice while the fans have packed the arena most every night as a result! So if there ever was a time to break away, my heart was telling me that this is the opportunity. I feel at ease knowing everything is in great hands at our front office."
