It’s cold again this morning, but temperatures will be a little warmer. Highs will return to the upper 30s in Rapid City, with single digits above zero in Aberdeen. That warmer trend will continue tonight and tomorrow with most areas staying above zero. However, a cold front will dive south tomorrow and that will lead to colder weather for the far northeast. Even Rapid City will be little colder, while Sioux Falls and Pierre will be near 18. Temperatures won’t change a lot on Thursday, but another cold front will enter the region by late Thursday night and Friday.
This will lead to a much colder day Friday with winds from the northwest and subzero wind chills. This cold snap will be short-lived with warmer numbers on the way for the weekend. Highs will return to the 30s and 40s in most areas by Sunday and Monday.
