Hope Haven, which restores and provides wheelchairs for those with disabilities, received a financial boost Monday.
Several South Dakota Rotary Clubs gave the organization $57,000. Members of the clubs have traveled with Hope Haven over the past few years to give wheelchairs to people in Romania.
With Monday's donation, members will likely make a trip back.
"They not only then get to see the end result but they get to bring that message back home and the excitement just continues to compound," David VanNingen with Hope Haven said.
"$57,000 will buy a lot of wheelchairs. I don't know exactly how many, but probably three or four hundred different wheelchairs. Some for kids, some for adults, and some for people that have different sort of disabilities," Downtown Rotary Club President Steve Sikorski said.
Hope Haven has distributed 100,000 wheelchairs to people in more than 100 countries.
