Rapid City Police Arrest Shooting Suspect
Charles Birdshead

Officials in Rapid City have made an arrest in the shooting death of Eustacio Marrufo.  Marrufo was found dead in the parking lot of the South Dakota Rose Inn in northern Rapid City on January 7.

Investigators asked for the public's help last week in finding 30-year-old Charles Birdshead to question him in connection with the crime.

On Monday around 7 p.m. they arrested Birdshead on outstanding warrants. After talking with him, they charged Birdshead with second degree murder, commission of a felony while armed with a firearm and possession of a controlled weapon.  He's also charged with fourth degree rape and distribution of a controlled substance to a minor, though police have not said what led to those charges.
