The South Dakota Supreme Court rules it is legal for law enforcement to check your driver's license during a traffic stop.
The high court upheld Andrew Bonacker's conviction after a 2010 arrest.
A highway patrol trooper pulled Bonacker over for allegedly driving with his high beams on. After he proved his high beams were not on, the trooper asked for Bonacker's license which was revoked.
Bonacker believed the trooper should have never asked for his license.
