Home Sales, Prices Jump In Sioux Falls

January 8, 2013, 10:29 AM by Angela Kennecke

Home Sales, Prices Jump In Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

There's more good news on the housing market in Sioux Falls.

Over the last year, sales have jumped and so have prices. Pending Sales for December alone were up 42.5 percent over one year ago.

Sellers are getting more for their homes too.  The median sales price jumped 10 percent to $149,900.

Homes were on the market for a shorter period of time and the supply of available homes is also down, creating a hot market for sales.

For the entire year of 2012, sales were up 23 percent and the price range with the largest gain in sales was the $200,000 to $300,000 range, which increased by 50 percent.

But homes priced under $200,000 still sold the fastest last year.
