There's new evidence the Sioux Falls economy is bouncing back.
The city released building and construction statistics for 2012 on Wednesday and the numbers are dramatic.
Last year, permits for single family homes jumped to 628, nearly twice as many as 2011.
While total projects fell in 2012, the total price tag soared to more than $490 million. That's more than $200 million more than in 2011 and the second highest total the city's ever seen. The only year the city did better was back in 2007 before the recession sunk in.
The projects with the largest price tags include the events center, apartment buildings and new schools.
