The first big snow storm of the season is hitting the Black Hills; more than a foot of snow is on the way to the region.
At Terry Peak Ski Area in Lead, the snow is falling steadily. When employees showed up to the ski resort Wednesday, they found eight to ten inches of fresh snow had already fallen on the mountain. It's thick and heavy, which they say winter sports enthusiasts are going to love.
It's also piling up in Deadwood where the heavy, dense snow is creating extra work for people who are doing their best to clear vehicles and sidewalks.
KELOLAND's Derek Olson is in the Black Hills to show you how the region is dealing with the much-needed moisture tonight on KELOLAND News.
