Sioux Falls Issues Snow Alert

December 28, 2012, 6:40 AM by Karen Sherman

Sioux Falls Issues Snow Alert
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A snow alert has been issued in Sioux Falls.  The city says plowing of Emergency Snow Routes is underway and will continue until all routes are clear.  Vehicles parked on those streets are subject to immediate ticketing and towing.

After that, plows will work in Zone 3, starting at Friday morning at 8 a.m.  Plowing of east/west streets in Zone 2 will start at 8 p.m. and plows will clear the north/south streets in Zone 2 starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.  Any vehicles parked on the streets in these zones could be ticketed and towed.

Crews will work to clear Zone 1 overnight, starting at 1 a.m.  Motorists are reminded that vehicles parked in Zone 1 will be subject to ticketing and towing between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Review which zone you live in by visiting the city's snow website.

In addition, the city reminds property owners that you have 48 hours after the snow stops falling to clear your sidewalk.
