December Moisture On The Rise

December 26, 2012, 5:25 PM by Scot Mundt

December Moisture On The Rise

The rain and snow this month may have been on some people's Christmas list and for some areas Santa has been able to deliver.  So far this month, there are many in eastern KELOLAND above average for moisture in December.

Huron leads the list with 190 percent of average for the month, followed by Watertown and Sioux Falls.  The numbers drop to 96 percent in Pierre.

But, western South Dakota can still use some moisture.  Rapid City is at 45 percent of average for the month.

A lot of those numbers were helped with widespread two-third to three-quarters worth of rain in December.

There's still time to get moisture this month.  It will arrive starting Thursday mainly in south central and eastern KELOLAND, in the form of snow.
