Standoff Ends In Vermillion
VERMILLION, SD -

A standoff that’s been going on since 1 a.m. Tuesday in Vermillion has ended.

At a press conference, police said the suspect was armed and had two children in the house when they received the initial call. This call was originally for a domestic dispute at a home on South Crawford Road.

The suspect released the two children around 4:30 a.m.

Once these children were released from the home, police worked to communicate with the suspect. After they lost communication with him, they entered the home.

Once inside they found the suspect’s body.

Vermillion Police, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and DCI are all investigating. We’ll have more on this story tonight on KELOLAND News at 5, 6 and 10.
