Last Minute Christmas Shopping In KELOLAND

December 23, 2012, 9:58 PM by Stephanie Gregory

Last Minute Christmas Shopping In KELOLAND
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

There are only two days until Christmas and people in KELOLAND lined the corridors of the Sioux Empire Mall getting their last minute Christmas gifts.

"Get it done because it's countdown," Shopper Jim Erb said.

Folks flocked the Empire Mall to find last minute gifts on Sunday.

"I don't finish until about the day before, so tomorrow I'll finish it up," Erb said.

Shoppers said they found some sales, but not as many as they hoped.

"We've found a few deals, but nothing too spectacular. We haven't been able to not leave without something yet," Shopper Nikki Moir said.

Moir is quickly checking things off items on her list. She says she is buying all her Christmas gifts on Sunday.

"We actually are going to begin and end today," Moir said.

With three daughters who are in college, high school and elementary school Moir hopes to get all her shopping done in just six hours.

"I like to buy my girls lots of Christmas stuff so that's what it's about, your kids," Moir said.

At Old Navy shoppers flooded the racks finding their gifts and Old Navy's Assistant Store Manager says it’s crunch time.

"When we are two days away from Christmas, we've seen a lot of shoppers in here trying to do last minute shopping and get those last minute stocking stuffers," Old Navy Assistant Store Manager Pam Tetzlaff said.

Between 75 percent off and $1 to $10 deals, Old Navy says sales have seen an up tick this year.

"Those specific days when we have certain deals going on is when we see the most happening," Tetzlaff said.
