Things have gone south, and I mean that in the literal sense. Models have pushed things well to our south for Christmas week, this means COLD air will pour into the upper plains as the week goes by.
We still have a slight chance for snow in KELOLAND on Christmas Day, but this is away from the main vort max (which is well south in New Mexico and Texas). A weaker piece of energy will move through KELOLAND that day, you can see some of the energy in ND and SD.
Light precip is also forecast in KELOLAND for Christmas Day, you can see some of that here. Amounts of a hundredth to near a quarter inch will be possible for Christmas morning to the morning of December 26th, so anything that falls in KELOLAND will stay light. Models are still spitting out well over an inch for the Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley areas.
