Cloudy skies will remain for much of KELOLAND through this evening and tonight. The best chance for snow is in southeast KELOLAND, mainly south of Interstate 90 in northwest Iowa. This is an area where Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are posted through Thursday morning. Snow amounts in Iowa will average between two and five inches. Amounts will be far less north and west of this area. Lows tonight will fall to the single digits.
Thursday will start with a little light snow in Iowa, but it should quickly come to an end. Clearing skies will slowly move west to east as we go through the afternoon. Temperatures will remain cold with highs in the teens and twenties in central and eastern KELOLAND. Western South Dakota will be much warmer with highs in the upper thirties.
Teens and twenties will remain in central and eastern KELOLAND through the weekend, but middle forties will be likely in western South Dakota Friday and Saturday. The western warmth will come to an end on Sunday as temps fall to the thirties.
There’s still a chance for light snow early next week, but the bulk of the system will be well to our south.
