Emery Woman Killed In Crash Near Elk Point

A 27-year-old Emery woman died in a crash on Interstate 29 Tuesday morning.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Angela Snoozy lost control of her car as she was going north on the interstate near Elk Point.  The car crossed the median and went into the southbound lane, where it was hit by a garbage truck.  Snoozy was thrown from the car and suffered deadly injuries.  She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the garbage truck was not hurt in the crash.

Officials say the road was slippery at the time due to freezing drizzle in the area.
