Areas of snow continue to develop around Sioux Falls, with a narrow band of heavy snow. Locally 2-4” of snow will be likely, so drive with care. A winter weather advisory has been posted for the morning to account for the quick accumulation. Other areas of light snow and light freezing drizzle have fallen west of Sioux Falls and roads are slick in many areas. The weather will improve by this afternoon with highs warmest West River in the lower 40s.
Tomorrow, another storm will move into the region, but will mainly track south of KELOLAND. Winter storm and blizzard conditions are expected in Kansas, Nebraska and parts of Iowa into Wednesday. Again, we’ll be on the northern edge, but viewers south of Sioux Falls may get some light snow tomorrow.
No major systems are forecast after that through next weekend, but temperatures will remain chilly.
