Morning Snow Creates Slick Conditions In East SD
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Plows are working to clear roads in southeastern KELOLAND after a quick snowfall covered the region with more than four inches of snow in some areas.

The Sioux Falls Regional Airport is reporting 3.5" of snow since it started falling around 3 a.m. with most of that falling between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.  Brandon is also reporting 3.5" and Luverne appears to have some of the most snow with 4.8".

The Dickinson County, Iowa, Emergency Management is reporting variable snow fall amounts of three to five inches in the Okoboji area.

Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties in South Dakota and several others in northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota are STILL under a Winter Weather Advisory.  The system is wrapping up but roads continue to be slick in the Yankton and Vermillion area where freezing drizzle is a problem.

Most major highways in the southern half of South Dakota are continue to report slippery conditions with snow and ice according to Safe Travel USA's website.

A handful of schools are starting late and at least one business is giving employees extra time to get into work.  You can find the latest announcements on the KELOLAND Closeline.
