Red Kettle Challenge Raises Thousands

December 15, 2012, 6:38 PM by Hailey Higgins

Red Kettle Challenge Raises Thousands
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

All twenty-dollar bills donated will turn into 100 dollars with the help of anonymous donors who pledged more than 20-thousand dollars to the challenge.

The goal is to raise 35-thousand in just one day. And even some rain and snow didn't stop people from donating to the good cause.

"Oh it's fantastic. It's wet out here, a little bit of cold but when little itty bitty kids put money it the kettle, it warms you up. feels great" said Major Thomas Riggs

This year's Red Kettle fundraising goal is 350-thousand dollars.

Roughly 190-thousand has been raised so far.

The campaign ends Christmas Eve.
