Inching Closer To Snowfall Predictions

December 11, 2012, 5:14 PM by Scot Mundt

Inching Closer To Snowfall Predictions
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Some of us saw snow in October but didn't see another flake until this past weekend.  Nearly two months passed between snow, but when it fell, it came with a vengeance especially in northeast KELOLAND.

Aberdeen picked up more than 10 inches of snow this past weekend, bringing the season total to 11.2.  Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls received three inches or less, but it helped bring Pierre a total of more than nine inches, Rapid City is sitting at five and Sioux Falls is just over four inches.  Lead/Deadwood also picked up some snow bringing their total to more than two feet.

While temperatures will warm a little over the next couple of days, many locations will stay snow free.

The next chance for snow may fall this weekend in the southeast.  Hopefully it will whittle away at the 28 inches left in my snowfall prediction.

Visit Scot's Weather Corner for more on his prediction.
