Drivers Urged To Prepare For Winter Weather

December 10, 2012, 6:49 AM by Austin Hoffman

Drivers Urged To Prepare For Winter Weather
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The snow storm may be over but the cold weather is sticking around.

As you leave for work or school, you should make sure to pack a few extra things to stay warm as temperatures dip below zero.

First, let your car warm up for at least ten minutes before you head out and pack a winter survival kit, especially if you're traveling long distances.

That should include extra blankets and clothes, along with some extra food and water in case you get stranded.

If you haven't already, you'll want to take some time to make sure your vehicle is in top shape before traveling this winter.  Just take it to your local mechanic to get it looked at and make any needed repairs to ensure you'll get to your destination without any problems.
