I-90 Reopens, Part Of I-29 Remains Closed

South Dakota Department of Transportation officials say Interstate 90 between Mitchell and Sioux Falls is now open.

I-90 was closed earlier Sunday from Sioux Falls to Chamberlain. Crews re-opened a stretch between Chamberlain and Mitchell earlier Sunday evening. And as of 8:45 p.m. Sunday there are no sections of I-90 that are closed.

I-29 between Watertown and Sioux Falls will remain closed until sometime Monday morning.

Officials still caution though, saying much of the road remains icy and motorists are encouraged to postpone travel until Monday morning.

No travel is also advised in many other areas in eastern South Dakota.
