One Dead, Two Injured In Two Vehicle Crash Near Baltic

One Dead, Two Injured In Two Vehicle Crash Near Baltic
NEAR BALTIC, SD -

One person is dead after a two vehicle crash near Baltic, South Dakota Thursday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of 254th Street and 475th Avenue, or what you may know as Midway Corner.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says a car was going west, came to a stop sign and was hit by a pickup in the middle of the intersection that was traveling north.

The driver of the car died at the scene. The two people in the pickup were taken to the hospital. They have minor injuries.

Names of the victims will not be released until family is notified.

There is a stop sign at the intersection for east and west bound traffic, but there isn’t one for the north and south bound traffic.

Authorities say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
